A Christmas Insurance Story:

T’was the week of Christmas and all through Duluth
The snow was piled on every lawn, car, and roof.
The children were bundled in their mittens and boots
Laughing and playing under the great winter spruce.
Now the big kids were having some fun today too
Riding and gliding on the snow as it blew!
The snowmobiles came in all colors, shapes, and size
But there’s one more thing - it may come as a surprise!
These people made sure their mobiles were insured
So they could ride and feel safe, covered, and secured!
Of course, they came to Bonnie J. Perkins.
They wanted the best so they could be certain!
Insurance is not just for your life, house, and boat
If you would like to know more please call us for a quote!
We insure Santa’s sleigh so he can feel right
When he yells merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving isn't just about the turkey and pumpkin pie. We think it's about giving thanks for the people our lives and that includes you! We appreciate you and hope that you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving.

In this season of giving, we hope that you will join us on our mission to give every child a special Christmas!  Come to our office with a new and unwrapped toy, and we will donate it to the Salvation Army’s toy collection! Our Toyland Express collection will continue through December 11.

Monday, November 16, 2015

ATTENTION!  Santa needs YOUR help this Christmas! It looks like the elves are having a hard time making their toy quotas this year and toy construction numbers have plummeted. This could be the first year in history that they come up short! So, Santa has reached out to us in hopes that we lend a hand! We decided to join the Salvation Army in their Toyland Express donation.  Come in to our office between November 16- December 11 and bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Toyland Express. We want every child to have something special this Christmas! Please help us, help Santa, and help every child have a wonderful Christmas and a special memory.  As a bonus incentive, Santa has agreed to put all donators at the top of his nice list! He and the elves are desperate for your help!

May the leaves turn and the bonfires burn, for fall season has returned!

Ready or not fall is here! The days are getting shorter, but there is nothing to fear!

The activities we love didn’t go with the summer sun. There is plenty of time to do the things that are fun!

It’s the season of football, pumpkin carving, and cider in a mug! It’s the season for warm fires and being wrapped in a blanket snug!

At our agency we want the best for you, so you can enjoy fall and stay protected too!

So, if you have a cabin or an ATV, call my office and ask for Bonnie!

I will get you set for the fall season to start. Getting everything insured is always smart!

If you have any questions, you can surely contact us! We are the Insurance agency you can trust!

We hope the season has started off well, best wishes from Bonnie, Nicole and Michelle.

4 Wonderful Hacks that will Help You Stay Organized this Spring

Spring is finally upon us here in Minnesota, which mean one thing, it’s time for spring cleaning! You don’t know what you should be doing to organize your house? No fear! That’s what I’m here for! I have a couple tips for you to make organizing your house this spring that much easier!

  1. You have finally committed to buying the new pair of boots you've had your eyes on for the past couple months, and it’s just about time for you to store them away for the summer. Worried about them getting smashed up while they sit lonely in your closet in the warmer months? Don’t be! Throwing some paper towel rolls in those boots and they will be nice and perky all summer, until you need them again!
  2. Keep losing your earrings or backs, no matter what you do? I know the feeling, and I know how frustrating it can be! I have a solution for that. I found that ice cube trays are great for storing all of those earrings. No more missing backs for you! They are cheap, and easy to store in a dresser drawer if you don’t want your jewelry out in the open.
  3. What is your biggest complaint about cleaning the windows of your house or car? I know mine is always seeing those annoying streaks that most paper towels leave behind. A friend recently shared with me a little secret, however. Coffee Filters! I know, I didn't really believe it at first either. But I decided to give it a shot and now my windows are beautiful, shiny, and streak free. I definitely won’t be going back to paper towels anytime soon.
  4. Last, but certainly not least on this wonderful list of spring organization tips, is cleaning that smelly garbage disposal. As much as I try to keep my kitchen clean, sometimes the disposal just doesn't want to cooperate. This is where lemons and salt came into play. Throw a quarter of a lemon and a teaspoon of salt and you will have your garbage disposal smelling nice and fresh in no time!
So, these are my tricks at making spring cleaning a little bit easier! How about sharing some of your spring cleaning tips below? I always love hearing ways to make the tedious, but necessary, task that much easier.

The Importance of Conducting a Home Inventory

Conducting a Home Inventory might not seem like something you need to do to, but it can save you a lot of money in the long run.

The most efficient ways to conduct a Home Inventory:

        Do not rely on memory
Walk room by room and write down all belongings
Save your receipts to get the most accurate costs for each item
Taking pictures is also a great and easy way to record the items you have

You will also want to keep your inventory in a safe place other than your home so it will not get damaged or lost. Some places to keep your inventory:

        Safe or lockbox
        Safety deposit box
Cloud application through a trustworthy app or computer system
        Office or place of work

Buying a used car is a great way to save some cash, but be sure check out the vehicle before buying. Here are a few things to consider before your purchase:

  • Signs of leaking or burnt smells
  • All lights, including interior
  • The odometer, new cars with high mileage may cause problems in the near future
  • The interior, move objects to make sure nothing is being covered up
  • Rust or scratches, move hand across edges to check for any damage
